After over a decade of factual television production, Takeaway Media today announced a demerger which sees directors Archie Baron and Neil Cameron launch new, separate businesses.
Archie Baron heads Wingspan Productions, which is currently in production with a 3-part history series for BBC4 and a follow-up single to recent hit Ian Hislop Goes Off the Rails.
Neil Cameron has launched Clan Productions. First commissions are a documentary charting the history of the relations between Britain and Iran, and an Arts and Culture magazine show for the BBC’s new Persian Television channel.
In recent years, Takeaway Media has enjoyed success with many BBC commissions including Joanna Lumley in the Land of the Northern Lights(BBC1), 2 series of Balderdash & Piffle(BBC2), London Calling – Inside the BBC World Service, Ian Hislop’s Scouting for Boys and Mortgaged to the Yanks(all BBC4). Other notable Takeaway successes include the RTS winning Motherland– A Genetic Journey(BBC2), the C4 series An Indian Affair, and 3 series of its original BBC2 commission Leviathan.
